Euopean Commssion says MKO remains a banned group
The European Commission, the executive arm of the 15-member European Union, Monday underlined that the Mujahidin-Khalq Organistaion (MKO) remains a terrorist group.
'There is certainly no change in the status of MKO. It remains a banned organization,' Commission spokeswoman for external relations, Emma Udwin, told IRNA.
Last year the EU put the MKO known as the Munafiqin (hypocrites) in Iran on its list of groups that support terrorism.
The MKO has military bases in Iraq and according to western media reports, the US and the MKO have reached a deal under which the terrorist group has been allowed to keep its weaponry.
MKO is also on the US list of terrorist groups.
