Richard Boucher, US Department of State spokesman, in a press conference said: disarmament of a group doesn’t necessarily mean that the group is leaving terrorism and is not a terrorist organization anymore. A few such organizations have really quit their terrorist ideas.
In response to a question, he said the purpose of disarming Mojahedin is to end them and their terrorist activities and also preventing them from further actions.
Boucher added that he doesn’t know anything about arresting MKOs by force and delivering them to another country and said:” I don’t want to talk theoretically.”
He said: “this is a terrorist group that has been there, that has operated with the support of the former Iraqi regime.”
At the end he said: Any detailed questions about military operations or discussions in Iraq would be answered by the CENTCOM military people.
