Germany cancels the refugee status of members of Mojahedin-e khalq in this country
Maryam K. couldn’t believe her eyes when she received a letter which showed that her refugee status has been cancelled. This woman had fled from Iran to Germany in 1994. Of course at that time she was given the refugee status since she had joined Mojahedin-e khalq organization. Now, nine years on, for the same reason (namely, being in MKO organization) her refugee status has been cancelled.
Maryam K. is not alone. There have been 30 cases of foreign refugees whose refugee status has been cancelled during past month. Even registering for a demonstration has been enough. The reason says: “Mojahedin-e khalq is in the EU’s list of terrorist organizations.”
Maryam K. is also afraid that in the EU-Iran nuclear talks, Mojahedin may still remain on the list.
