Since the programs broadcast on the new frequency are all taped from earlier programs- repeated during the day, it seems that it’s a technical test
MKO’s satellite TV channel “Simaye Azadi” which broadcasts on Telstar12 satellite has started broadcasting on another frequency on the same satellite since August 7, 2005. Since the programs broadcast on the new frequency are all taped from earlier programs- repeated during the day, it seems that it’s a technical test. It should be noted that beam coverage for both frequencies are the same, therefore the reason for adding a new frequency on a same satellite (with different providers) is not clear. Starting programming on another frequency is expensive and this is in contradiction with the claims of Mojahedin on being short on money and so on. Many believe that this case is similar to the expulsion of MKO’s TV channel from Hotbird satellite. The frequency on which MKO TV has been broadcasting is 12588, Vertical (Symbol rate: 4503, FEC: 2/1). Although the title of new channel has not changed yet to “Simaye Azadi”, but the information of its provider is as follows: Globecomm Systems Inc. Telstar 12, 15 degrees west Frequency: 11494, Symbol Rate: 17469 FEC: 4/3 This company’s contact information is as follows: www.globecommsystems.com Globecomm Systems Asia Unit 2102, 21/F, Emperor Group Centre 288 Hennessy Road Wanchai, Hong Kong China Phone: ++ (852) 2838-8199 Fax: ++ (852) 2838-9915 E-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots.
