We were informed that Middle East representatives of UNHCR will start reviewing the requests of former MKO members (currently stationed in US-run temporary transit facility with the worst mental conditions) for transferring them to a safe country according to their own decision
Steady efforts of different people and humanitarian organizations for more than three years have finally fruited. We were informed that Middle East representatives of UNHCR will start reviewing the requests of former MKO members (currently stationed in US-run temporary transit facility with the worst mental conditions) for transferring them to a safe country according to their own decision. This is, of course, a big shock to the MKO leaders and they’re expected to create difficulties and obstacles as usual. From the beginning, they tried to hinder the process and force the victims to return to the organization or choose the other obligatory way: returning to Iran. As the victims return to Iran, MKO labels them as agents of Iranian intelligence ministry to invalidate their information! We, who run Falagh Association, have always done our best to save these victims by visiting Parliamentarians and human rights organizations, and also by holding meetings and taking actions to win the attention of officials and media to this humanitarian disaster. Now, we are glad to see that the first steps for putting an end to this disaster have been taken. Again, we offer congratulations to all the people involved in this battlefield, particularly the general Federation of Iranian Refugees.
