EU reiterates that MKO is a terrorist group The Council, the top decision-making body of the European Union, has reiterated that the MKO grouplet is a terrorist organization.
In a reply to a recent question by a Member of the European Parliament, Erik Meijer from Holland, on the legal status of MKO in Europe, the Council replied, "The Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK or MKO) is on the EU list of persons and groups involved in terrorist acts... The Community and the Member States (EU) are committed in this respect."
Regarding the MEP's question on MKO's so-called political wing, The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the Council replied, "At this point in time, the Council has no concrete plans regarding the NCRI."
In its reply, the Council noted that the EU 'decided on June 17, 2002 to deepen relations between the EU and Iran.
