According to Al-Bayan Daily, Canadian foreign ministry announced: 20 Canadians related to Mojahedin are under the protection of U.S. forces in a camp in Iraq.
Reginald Dwaon, spokesman of Canada's Foreign Ministry, referring to the mentioned headline, said: U.S. officials informed us that 20 MKO members who have the citizenship of Canada are now under the control of U.S. forces.
He stressed: "these people, are War Prisoners and have been detained in Camp Ashraf as civilians.
He stressed that US officials have assured Ottawa that they are not going to extradite these people to Iran.
US officials have said that those MKO members who have double nationality are free to go to one of their countries.
He added that according to what he had learned from U.S. officials, no one of MKO members will be sent to Iran by force.
