Zbigniew Brzezinski, co-chair of the task force that produced the report Iran: Time for a New Approach, for the Council on Foreign Relations. National security adviser to President Jimmy Carter, in an interview with Neal Conan, from "NPR", supported the recent report of CFR on Iran and described the US "in the embarrassing position of supporting terrorist Mojahedin Organization." He said: "when it comes to the specific issue of some Al-Qaeda people in Iran, the fact is that there are people in Iraq which is now controlled by the US that have been engaged in terrorist activities in Iran and we have put that group in Iraq, which is acting against the Iranian government on the terrorist list. So, we're in the embarrassing position in effect of providing a kind of a shelter, a military umbrella, for a group in Iraq that we have labeled as terrorist and which is engaged in activities against Iran. Brzezinski: Exactly Conan: yes.
