In an interview with Saudi-based paper "Alyaum", Adnan Hadi Al-Asadi, deputy Iraqi interior minister- talking about senior Iraqi board's visit to Iran- said about the Mojahedin-e khalq: "Iranians stressed that this case should be closed. This group has been disarmed and its members are now in Iraq as refugees. They have pledged not to perform any terrorist activities against Iran by our borders." Al-Asadi referred to the formation of Common Security Committee by Iran-Iraq and said: "This Committee, comprised of security experts and officers will gather and analyze intelligence. This committee is very important and we hope such a committee could be formed with other neighbors as well." "This security pact requires both sides to watch their borders, exchange information and hold monthly meetings, in which members of the committee would discuss the latest information and developments".
