In an article on the Iraqi government in “Iraqi Archive in Denmark”, Dr. Latif Vakil, professor of political sciences at the University of Berlin, discussed the issue of the presence of the Mojahedin-e khalq in Iraq and wrote: “This group neither has popular support nor is it “Mojahed” as it claims. This group is a terrorist organization used by fascists and criminals, as Saddam Hussein used them in suppressing the “Sha’baniah Intifiadah”. “Why do the coalition forces free the terrorists after detaining them? The Iraqi Prime Minister should issue the order for the expulsion of terrorist MKO. This group has no popular support and doesn’t fight for the freedom of people. This group is a terrorist organization that fascists and criminals use it, like Saddam Hussein who used them in suppressing Iraqis’ uprising.” Dr. Latif added, “Why Mr. Jafari, accused by some people of cooperating with Iran, does not hand over these terrorists to their country? Iran has asked Iraqi authorities to prosecute these people. The presence of armed terrorists in Iraq who oppose neighboring countries violates Iraqi laws. Why is this group in Iraq?
