After it was announced that a number of Iraqi lawyers have supported Mojahedin-e khalq, Iraqi journalist Salem Al-Moosavi has posted an article on “Saut Al-Iraq” website. “May God mercy on a nation whose elites and human rights activists are you. You sold the pure blood of Iraqis with the least price and with the motives of which we know nothing yet,” Moosavi wrote.
His article is as follows: “Two days ago, when I read the reports of a conference in support of Mojahedin-e khalq in Baghdad and I learned that tens of Iraqi lawyers (according to Iraqi papers) had been involved in it, I was shocked. These people have asked for the staying of this organization in Iraq!! After reading the reports I concluded that the memory of Iraqi people is really weak, as if supporting mercenaries is of Arabs’ customs. I believe no one has doubt that this organization helped Saddam’s forces for 17 years and participated in suppressing Shiites and Kurds as Saddam’s Special Guard. This organization enjoyed former Iraqi regime’s logistical aids, tanks, camps, and …. In addition, it got 36.5 million barrels of oil from Iraqi regime- which belonged to the innocent Iraqis (according to Al-Mada newspaper). Now, after the fall of its main supporter, a number of Iraqi lawyers (and according to Iraqi media “tens of Iraqi lawyers”) took part in a conference which was held here in Baghdad’s Babel Hotel and asked for the staying of these terrorists and murderers in Iraq; so, bravo you lawyers! Regarding the terrorist activities of this group against Iraqi citizens and the involvement of the members of the group in killing and suppressing Iraqis in 1991 and its blind attacks against Iran, EU and the US put it on the terror list; but you Iraqi lawyers supported this group and claimed that the EU has no reason to say this organization has conducted terrorist acts and that it’s not terrorist!! May God mercy on a nation whose elites and human rights activists are you. You sold the pure blood of Iraqis with the least price and with the motives of which we know nothing yet. Perhaps you look at this organization as a leverage against Iran and a tool for taking advantage, but you should know that you have chosen the worst leverage to get to your goal. This conference and support may have been conducted by the guidance of Mr. Shaalan and his nonsense words- who had said that he would transfer terrorism from Iraq to Iran. But I believe that these Baathists are not representatives of Iraqi people and have no base among Iraqis. Anyway, the betrayal and treachery evidences won’t be erased from Iraq’s history and the mind of its people.
