They said that there was no return path for us. They said that the Iranian regime had executed some people who had returned to Iran earlier. We were frightened by these stories, so we decided to stay there until a way is opened for returning to Islamic Republic.
I'm Asadollah Amiri. I worked in Dubai in 2001. There, I was deceived by one of MKO members. He said that they would teach us language and that they would take me to Europe to work there. They provided us with forged passports and sent us to Iraq. They took us to Camp Ashraf and I was in Entrance for 25 days, and after that I went to Reception. They said that they fought against Islamic republic. First, we didn't accept. They said that there was no return path for us. They said that the Iranian regime had executed some people who had returned to Iran earlier. We were frightened by these stories, so we decided to stay there until a way is opened for returning to Islamic Republic. Then, the US invaded Iraq and then disarmed the MKO. After disarmament, the MKO was not as tough as before, for instance when we talked of leaving the group they didn't push us that much. Once, they announced that the gates are open for those who want to leave. Therefore, we left them and joined the US-run camp. "Where do you want to go?" Americans asked. "To Islamic republic," we answered. We were in US camp fro 8 months, and then we were taken back to Iran. Here, they treated us very good. We are now in Tehran and we would join our families in two days. To watch the film of interview on Habilian.com, please click <1>here<1>. To read MEK and Human Smuggling, please click <2>here<2>.
