MKO's support for the terrorist bombers in Ahwaz comes at a time when this anti-Iran terrorist group didn’t condemn the bombing itself and the killing of tens of Iranians in that city; rather, it tried to introduce the bombings as acts of protest by people and now the group asks the punishment- of these inhumane acts- to be investigated by the Security Council
In an article in the internet edition of Mojahed Journal (run by terroris MKO) on March 3, 2006, remnants of this terrorist group supported the terrorist bombers in Ahwaz and said that their execution was a crime: "… following these crimes, Wednesday afternoon Mullah Dorri Najafabadi promised the execution of two people involved in the incidents of Ahwaz and in the morning of Thursday, the two were hanged before the eyes of people." MKO's political wing in Europe, NCRI also released a statement on March 2 and said about the punishment of the two bombers: "This morning, Ali Afravi and Mehdi Navaseri were executed in Ahwaz in relation to bombings in that city. According to news agencies, Revolutionary Guards and Basijis and other mercenaries who had surrounded the two victims shouted slogans against the US, UK and Israel. The trial of these two prisoners didn't match even the least international standards."
