To keep its demoralized forces in the camp, the gang of Rajavi promised its members that Iran's case will be taken to the UN Security Council and that the policies of MKO are all focused on this target. However, months after the referral of Iran's case to the UN Security Council, MKO leaders see their dreams too far from being achieved!
Finally, after months of futile struggle and disappointed of being unable to impose their will, Europeans want to use the Security Council and sanctions against Iran. European officials said the window for negotiations is always open (which indicates there's no interest in radical US-like approach to Iran), it seems that they want to take a serious gesture in order force Iran to withdraw. Meanwhile, China and Russia are opposing the sanctions and even some reports indicate that Russians have been able to exclude Bushehr nuclear plant from possible sanctions on Iran. What the diplomats are talking about in UN buildings regarding the sanctions are about banning the sale of ballistic missiles and nuclear technology to Iran; this means to write down formally what has been applied for the past 20 years! Furthermore, economy sectors (private and public) in Germany, Italy and France had earlier warned about the consequences of imposing sanctions on Iran and it doesn't seem that sanctions take a broad sense. This view has made the gang of Rajavi to complain and moan; seeing their rapid annihilation in such situation, they desperately ask the European countries to approve broad sanctions on Iran. Desperation of members and the futility of the anarchical activities of the gang of Rajavi have very negative results for the group and that's why the MKO's top officials come to the scene to- by begging to the West- show how baseless their analyses are.
