VOA Persian channel reported that Ms. Condoleezza Rice had responded to Raymond Tanter's request on using MKO against Iran as follows: "…US's position towards MEK is clear. Mojahedin-e Khalq is on terror list. They have killed numerous people including Americans…".
On January 19, when a number of mercenaries of Rajavi and remnants of Saddam Hussein were demonstrating before the White House to ask for launching sanctions and military action against Iran by referring its nuclear case to UN Security Council, VOA Persian channel reported that Ms. Condoleezza Rice had responded to Raymond Tanter's request on using MKO against Iran as follows: "…US's position towards MEK is clear. Mojahedin-e Khalq is on terror list. They have killed numerous people including Americans…". VOA's correspondent introduced Tanter as sponsor of MKO's meetings. After Rajavi's "NCRI" was also added to the list of terrorist organizations, Raymond Tanter established Iran Policy Committee (comprised of former CIA officers) to lobby for Rajavi promote its agenda in the US. At a time when the tension between Iran and the US is at the highest point (since hostage taking of US diplomats in Tehran in 1979), Rice's stance indicates that the US is not willing to use the remnants of Saddam even in the case of resorting to military option.
